So what's the status of the book?
I have received the final edited copy from my editor, and it's looking better than ever. Anyone who wants to publish a book should hire an editor, even if they're an English major. That second set of eyes really does help!
I have approved all of the edits and made some fixes based on Chris' suggestions, so now I feel comfortable that the text of the book is ready. I still have to finish the ending of the game's included adventure, but otherwise the text is good to go!
That leaves art and layout. Ruben has done a fantastic job on the layout mock-ups, and I think you'll like what he's done. We spent a lot of time going back-and-forth with fonts to find the perfect look for the text, and we have a few alternates in mind in case there's money left over in the budget to do an alternate layout (one for the hardcopy book and a screen-optimized layout).
Finally, Melissa is hard at work on art. I just sent the almost-last of the commissions to her today. All that's left are the front and back cover and two or three internal pieces. Mind you, that's what has been commissioned so far -- we still have a bit of work to do to finish fulfilling the orders.
I hope to have a few more pieces to show off soon, but for now feast your eyes on the Changeling!
